My second photoshoot!!

This is Kat! She is one of my "house" mates and last weekend she let me do a photo shoot with her! (thanks for letting me practice on you kat :)
I had found this really cute little trail in Abbotsford, which, I'm assuming is used by the Girl Guides because it was totally decorated with beads, light catchers, flowers, painted rocks, etc. It was really cute. And at the end of the trail, was a little chapel as well. I couldn't have asked for a better setting, although because it was in the Forest, there wasn't a lot of light there, which made some of the pictures look a little bit dark.

You probably noticed that before my camping trip post, I hadn't posted anything in a while. To be honest, I've been getting a little bit frustrated with my style of photography. Well, that is, if I have a style at all. I love looking at all the different styles of photography and it just fascinates me when I see a beautiful picture, where everything works, the composition, the lighting, etc. So I think to myself, it can't be that hard right? Wrong! My pictures are not what I want them to be. Having said that, I also have to add that I don't practice enough. On Thursday I sat down and googled photography and everything that comes with it, on the internet and wow, there is a lot of helpful information. I have decided to this at least twice a week. This way I will learn more and it will get me more motivated. I also need to try and advertise "myself" some more so that I can actually have photo shoots with people, not just objects, which is what I did on Thursday. Check these out!

Camping, Bonfire, Sunshine... aaah I love Summer!

Last weekend me and my friends went camping! It was our first camping trip this summer and it was alot of fun!

I love going camping with the girls, no just to spend the time with them, but because it is such a relaxing time and it gives me/us a chance to switch off from our normal routine.

During our free time we went swimming at Lake of the Woods. It is a man made lake and it is beautiful there! The lake is circled with mountains and the water, though freezing cold at first, is blue and clear. It definitely was refreshing.  

That weekend I finally figured out how to keep my shutter open for a longer time. The longer it stays open, the more we were able to do with the flashlight. 

CD Release Party

Last week my friend's friend was having her very first cd release party. She was playing in the basement of a church in Vancouver and she invited us to come check it out.

Her music was amazing. So relaxed and easy going and the lyrics were awesome as well. It captured my full attention right from the moment that she started singing.

Her name is Vanessa Silva and I definitely recommend her music (if you ever get a chance to listen to it).

 The guy in the middle, his name is Josh and he performed some of his songs as well.

Babysitting

A couple weeks ago (or was it months?) I babysat two cute little children! They were adorable and I had so much fun with them. We made chocolate chip cookies and went to the park in the afternoon.
