First pictures - Four Seasons

For my first "publishment of pictures" I thought I would start with a couple of my nature shots!
I love taking pictures of God's beautiful world! Especially now that Spring is here I can't stop being amazed at how green everything gets! Growing up in Paraguay you never really get the full efect of when a season changes. Yes, it will get colder once winter comes, and yes there are a couple more flowers that will bloom once spring arrives but not like you can see it in a country that gets rain just about every second day.
I thought I would share four pictures that represent each season. So the first one is Spring, second Summer and so on.
Spring: I tried to put the focus on the flowers and blurr out everything else in the background. There is not much going on in this picture, but the long path points out that there is more nature and greenery to see.

Summer: Sun! This was last summer when I went camping with my friends family. This was the first morning, when we saw this halo around the sun. It was awesome! I didn't want to just take a pic of the sun and the halo so I decided to put this tree in the middle to help the ring stick out even more.

Fall: this was beginning of last fall. I focused in on the leafs that were closest to the camera. (by the way, you're going to notice that I do this alot - focuse in on what is close to the camera and the rest is blur)

Winter: This is at my work. I work at a Daycare that is located at an Elementary School which is all the way on top of a mountain. This picture was taken just before a major snow storm.
I liked the way the sun was trying to come out but the amount of clouds kept everything else dark. The tree helps to tone down the brightness and therefore lets the camera focus on other things as well.

Intro

Hello and welcome back!

I finally took some time again to sit down and make another post. it is almost midnight on a saturday night and me and my roommate are watching james bond. the one with pierce brosnan. so far it's pretty good.

Alright, I thought I would share maybe with you guys what kind of camera I'm using now. It's not a fancy professional one, it's just a plain digital camera, a nikon coolpix s210 with 8.0 megapixels and 3x optical zoom. However, I do love this camera. It doesn't have any outstanding special features but it has served me well in the last year.

Although, if I want to take more creative pictures I need those special features and that's why I'm looking into buying an slr nikon camera. (I don't know why exactly nikon...) Man those things are expensive but wow do they ever take good pictures. I guess the money you put into it is worth it. At least it should be. Therefore, I'm just trying to look at the options that I have. So far I've looked at the D40 and the D80 one and I really like the D80 one. I guess I should start having Garage and Bake sales...

Ok that's it for now. Hope you all had a good weekend!

First Post

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog!
So, this is my first post and it already took me two days to just sit down and write it down. I'll be honest here and let you know that I probably won't update my blog regularly. But, who knows, maybe I'll get better at it. :) However, visitors should always feel welcomed!
The reason why I finally decided to open this blog is because of my love for photography. In the last couple years I've noticed how much I enjoy taking pictures and playing around with cameras. I'm not saying that I'm pretty much the best at it. Not at all. I still have a lot to learn!! What I'm saying is that, I think God has given me a gift in photography and I would like to share the process of me learning more, becoming better at it and obviously my best shots with the rest of the world!
Feel free to leave your input (constructive criticism, ideas, suggestions, whatever you'd like)! I always appreciate that!

Peace out y'all
