YUCA

My friend Gloria's brother in-law Andy, plays in a band called YUCA. Me and Gloria love going to their concerts and really enjoy listening to their music. Last Thursday, YUCA opened for Default at the Langley Events Center! We had a lot of fun and I was able to take some great pictures. I say this because usually at concerts, pictures turn out blurry and the lighting is horrible. But I think I got some great shots! See for yourself:

By the way, what do you thing of my new logo/signature? I kinda like it but I'm not sure about it yet. maybe it's too bright yet.

30th Anniversary

Like I said yesterday, about a week ago, I took pictures at my aunt and uncle's 30th Anniversary Party! It was a great chance for me to get more comfortable around a bigger group of people and practice taking pictures at the right angle and with the right lighting. Many of their friends that came I knew from before so I was able to enjoy the evening with great company as well!

Macro Mondays

It's been a while since my last post! Me and my friends went camping over the long weekend, one more camping trip before some of us have to go back to school and some of us just back to work. For me, it's back to work, back to the normal routine at the Child Care Center. Although I am looking forward to it, it also means that summer is over and fall is approaching very fast. Am I ready for it? I think so, however I'm definitely going to miss the sunshine warming up my face!
I haven't had another photoshoot yet, not since the last one. Well that's not entirely true, my aunt and uncle asked me to take pictures at their Anniversary Party and I was happy to. That post will be up soon. However, I don't always want to wait with posting pictures until I have done another photo session. So I thought to myself, why not post the random pictures I have on my computer, the ones that just take up space because they don't really fit into a category. Taking close up pictures is one of my favorite things to do with my camera, therefore I would like to introduce Macro Mondays. Every Monday, I will (try to) post a picture of something close up!
Alright here it goes. I found these lovely purple flowers in our garden! Two weeks ago I had ordered some close up filters from Amazon.ca and they finally arrived last week, so I was very excited to try them out!
I just love seeing the detail in macro pictures!

Jen and Josh - Maternity Session

I had so much fun photographing this little family. Jen and Josh are such easy going people and fun to be around with and their daughter Sydney is just the cutest little thing. So adorable! Anyways, I thought I was going to be way more nervous for my first photoshoot, but both of them made it fun and enjoyable. Thanks again, you guys!!

Here it is! My first official photoshoot!

Last week I finally decided to come "out in the open" with my photography and advertise it on Facebook. I presented my blog and said I'd do free photoshoots! I got lots of replies, more then I expected, which made me so happy and proud of what I'm doing. This way I will get lots of practice and I can perfect my style.

So, here is my first official photoshoot. Ok well, it's just a sneak peek but I'm working on the rest, and they should be up soon.

I went to College with Jen. She is pregnant with her second child and asked me to take pictures of her and her family.

The Ocean and the Mountains

 Have I ever mentioned that I love Vancouver? Probably not, but I do. Vancouver is a beautiful city and I'm talking about the nature scenery! You have the deep mysterious ocean and the majestic powerful mountains all in one spot. Makes for great pictures. A couple weeks ago me and a some friends went to Vancouver to see the annual fireworks. I was so excited to bring my camera and try and capture some good shots of the fireworks. Sadly, I had not thought about the fact that, once you're trying to take pictures of fireworks, the camera needs to be on a steady, still surface otherwise known as a tripod. And the location that we were at, there was no way I could have just put the camera on the ground and gotten any good shots.

Well all this I found out later. Before it got dark, I was able to take pictures of an amazing sunset and those turned out pretty well!
